Conventions of Drama

Over the last few weeks we have been doing a lot of drama in Room 4.

We have been trying to become confident with some drama conventions as well as break out of our comfort zones. We have been having lots of fun with it too.

I wish I was...

In Week 3 we had a whole school dress up day. The theme was "I wish I was..." and it was a fundraiser for the Make a Wish foundation.

As a school we raised over $200 so it was a fantastic effort and it was heaps of fun seeing each other all dressed up. 

Grandparent's Day

Grandparents Day is always a day of large excitement here at Koromatua.

We spend a lovely day with special people in our lives.

The first block is spent in class sharing special activities together. Then there is a large morning tea and a whole school show where each class preforms an item.

Thank you to those Grandparents and other special people who came to spend the day with us-we loved spending time with you and we hoped you enjoyed it as much as we did.

Colours around us

WELCOME BACK TO TERM 2

We have had a great few days back at school, Our topic this week has been colours.

We have been learning about colours, writing poems about colours, and doing experiements with colours.

We hope to get our own poems published really soon but here is one that we wrote as a whole class

We know all about primary and secondary, warm and cold and mixing colours. We also learnt all about contrast

Then we did a crazy science experiment. We had 5 pots of water that were different colours and some paper towels.

We spent the first part of the morning making predictions about what we thought was going to happen. We understand that predictions don't have to always be right, and they can change all the time.

Then we made observations after 10 minutes, 1 hour and 2 hours to see what was changing.
